Dave Ahern

Dave Ahern is our Managing Director.

Responsible for the day to day running of the business including new business development, Dave brings 16 years of product development experience, including 10 years running his own product development consultancy, to Coalesce.

With expertise in the design of complex mechanisms, components, and assemblies, in high and low volume products across several industries and a thorough understanding of CAD, Data Management systems, and the product development process, he has delivered many successful projects for his clients, contributing to core technologies and generating significant IP along the way.

As well as being well aquainted with electro-mechanical consumer products, Dave has particular familiarity with the world of drug delivery devices. His work within regulatory frameworks, standards and quality systems (including FDA, MDD, CE, FCC, UL, WRAS, ISO, IEC, BSI) has honed his appreciation of the importance of compliance in the product development process.

Dave graduated from Cork Institute of Technology where he studied Mechanical and Electrical Design. Previous clients included Sagentia, Cambridge Consultants, Vectura Delivery Devices and CMR Fuel Cells. Before that, he worked as a design engineer at Scientific Generics, where he was also the CAD manager, Logitech SA, and Kentree Limited.

Dave lives in a rural Cambridgeshire village where he divides his very limited free time between his family, his community commitments and his passion for playing and recording music.
