Robin Cocker

Robin Cocker has 12 years of innovation, design and project management experience, mainly in medical, industrial and consumer products. His broad understanding and training mean that he is an excellent interface between key disciplines in product development and is skilled at balancing the conflicting requirements of product design.

Known as a prolific innovator, perhaps his greatest skill is spotting valuable insights that lead to new or improved products. He has developed this skill into a range of tools that allow creative processes to be controlled, documented, and optimised.

Whilst much of his work has focussed on technically challenging innovation briefs, he is also capable of managing complex projects all the way through to manufacture. Occasionaly Robin rolls up his sleeves and gets his hands dirty with Solidworks although he would admit that he prefers getting his hands really dirty with a TIG welder.

He has a 1st class BSc in Industrial Design and Technology and worked for Sagentia and more recently as an independent consultant before joining Coalesce. His professional interest in sustainability, energy and space efficient design spills over into his personal interests. He enjoys sailing, living afloat, and serious DIY projects, such as building his own hybrid propulsion and thermal energy recovery and storage system for domestic heating.
